Here is the second part of my stay in NYC through pictures! I am completely obsessed with the city and I can’t wait to go back and finish what I started, as I didn’t get to go to or see half the things I wanted to see, despite spending six days there. However, I still have some recommendations, which are listed below!
We stayed at the Lotte Palace in Midtown, which we loved! The rooms were spacious and location was central, being only a few blocks away from Times Square. Adding to this, the subway was easy to catch, and everything was only a 20 minute ride max from where we were located. We were also pleasantly surprised when we found out on our fourth day there that the hotel was actually Serena’s home in Gossip Girl… which explained the countless number of girls we would run into taking photos when we stepped outside the lobby.
I didn’t get to eat at half the places I wanted to, however everywhere we did eat was amazing! For breakfast, I loved the cult favourite Jacks Wife Freda as well as The Butchers Daughter and Sarabeths – which has a very ‘New York’ vibe. For lunch or a snack, the weekend Smorgasburg markets in Brooklyn are a food lovers dream, and for a classic New York bagel we headed to Space Market, a hidden gem that produces some pretty amazing bagels. For dinner, I recommend Beauty and Essex, as well as Gelso and Grand in Little Italy.
The first night we headed straight to a few rooftop bars we had our eye on, and they did not disappoint! The Pod 39 Rooftop was our first visit, and we were immediately in love with the intimate rooftop with dimmed fairy lights and delicious cocktails. Next we visited The Refinery, which was equally amazing, and boasted incredible views of the Empire State Building. For more of a lounge bar, The Soho Grand Hotel was perfect for something more chilled, however The Standard was at the top of my list. With a rooftop pool, incredible views and located in the Meatpacking district, I will definitely be heading there again! If you can – go to a baseball game. We went to see the Yankees vs Red Sox, and despite having no idea whatsoever what was happening in the game, it was still such a fun experience.
